Tried it for the first time on reading good reviews. This is one of the best hair dresser in Chorlton and will come back for further treatments. Incidentally if you need a good salon to get your nails done, try Chorlton Nails & Fish Spa at 521 Barlow Moor Road which is also fantastic.

I've been a loyal client to Ethos hairdressers for nearly seven years, despite living in France for five of those! I accidentally stumbled across the salon in the Northern Quarter when I lived on the next road over, and was instantly converted. The staff are all lovely. Always friendly, unpretentious, and good fun. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere in the salon, enhanced by the wine and beer happily dished out for free should you want it! I have a massive mane of hair, and dying/cutting/styling can take several hours so the wine goes down nicely on a lazy Friday afternoon. A couple of times my friends have popped in to meet me, and I'm still in the middle of a cut, and they're invited to sit and have a beer too while they wait for me. How good is that?
I initially got sucked in by the prices excellent student discount and even the salon director's prices are a bargain. A number of staff have passed through the doors since I started coming here and I found them all understanding of my needs. Sharon (the director) is not out to make a fast buck, and listens to your requirements. For the four years I lived in France I couldn't make it back for 8 week appointments, so Sharon made sure she cut a style that could last as it grew out, in case I could not get back to Manchester for a few months. When you have long, thick, wavy hair it's nice not to feel a burden or to be rushed out of the door with a half finished job. It's taken years to find such service, and I've yet to leave the salon without a bounce in my stride. Even my brother complimented me last time I left the salon, and that never happens! Product knowledge is excellent, and no one rams any of it down your throat. I couldn't recommend this salon more.

Its a rather good salon though the price can be a bit on the high side. I enjoyed my visit there though and the cut and colouring were satisfactory. I would like it a bit more if I was made too feel more special.Overal I would say its a good hair dresser.

Ethos is a great salon been there 3 times and had a good service choice of drinks and, the haircuts are pretty good too. Adam cut mine and was really cool they know whats cool.

I've had my hair cut here three times now by Beck and would thoroughly recommend it. The location is lovely, on the delightful Beech Road in Chorlton, and the atmosphere friendly. Most importantly, Beck is very good at what she does and has always given me really successful cuts that grow out well. Also, anti-social as it may sound, I don't really like to talk while I'm having my hair cut I find it more relaxing just to close my eyes and drift off for the duration, and Beck totally understands that and is fine with it. At £36 this is not a cheap haircut, but to me it's worth it. It's far from as pricey as it could be, as well other salons in the area charge more.
