Kingston Yards Grill

The restaurant is okay given it is the only one in the mall.

First visit, I had a brown derby Cobb salad, I asked ahead of time if this was finely chopped. Got a very confused look from the waitress. It came chopped but not finely so. MANAGEMENT: if you call it Brown Derby, do some research and serve it right!

Second visit, I had Thai lettuce wraps. Filling was tasty, peanut sauce was great. But they chose to put the wraps together and served them so that when you picked them up, they fell apart and the lettuce was wilted. MANAGEMENT: lettuce wraps are built at the table with cold crispy lettuce, give people some credit to do it themselves with a much better result.

Like many local restaurants, the cooks don't know what they are suppose to be serving. Do your homework and do it right!

Don't mess with the bull, young man. You'll get the horns. So very true of this establishment. After witnessing the owner talk poorly to a customer who complained of the food, I won't be back.

To be clear the food is OKAY. Been there twice and I couldn't complain. Remember it's a restaurant in a mall and the Hudson Valley Mall at that. I think they are aiming high for their food and missing the mark. Just please don't point it out to the waitress. I warned you....

I used to go here often, but lately the service, selection and food have gone way down hill. I went here about 2 weeks ago and we returned the guacamole for being loaded with salt. Bad move, the chef got wind and loaded the rest of our food with salt. On that same visit they were out of so many of the beers on tap and I ended up getting my 4th choice. The waitress ignored us time after time, not making eye contact when she came to the section. I had to yell to get her to come over and then she rang us up for the wrong table!
I gave the place one last shot the other day , two weeks later, only to find them out of the same beers still! The wait staff ignored me for about 10 minutes until finally of them asked if my server had been there yet. Then I ordered my 3rd choice for beer and they brought me the wrong one. Needless to say, I'll be looking elsewhere from now on.

Plus: as usual in Kingston, nice service and large drafts beer selection...

Beside that... Cons: decor is incredibly busy and confusing, no less than 50 giant screen TVs all around the room, lighting is worst than in a parking garage... And the food... Well, the food is really mediocre. No chef lives in the kitchen, just some people who knows how to use a freezer, and a fryer. Burger was not tasty, tater totes or fries would have been better from any prepared food from a supermarket you will just put in your oven, and the veggie flatbread was just a scam: from the grilled veggies announced as zucchini, egglant, etc. we just had a bunch of right-from-the-can red peppers, artichokes and black olives. Very disappointing.

If you are looking for a nice BBQ place, and a better food, look a little further to find Hickory on route 28.

I work at the mall and usually order from here. But No More!!!! Received cold fries and a warm burger served with a thumbtack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes you heard correctly, THUMBTACK. I was told my food only sat around for 5 minutes before they decided to walk down the hall. That was 5 minutes too long. My reply after telling the waitress that fries only have an 8 minute shelf life, she replied then I still have a few minutes. How disgusting!!!!! The people there tell you how the place is run. The food shows you they have no ethics. The manager will blame everyone but himself.

The following day after posting the above....The manager Tim came into my store and served me a hot burger and hot fries. Apologies galore. No excuses!!! I understand that anyone can make mistakes, so with this apology I will give them one more chance. Hopefully in the future they will have better customer service. So far Tim made the first step. Thank You Tim for taking your time to come in and try to straighten this issue out.

Okay.....more than a month has gone by and things are looking much better. The manager Tim is doing everything he can do to make things right. (Thank You Tim)
I will continue to order from the Kingston Yards Grill because they do seem to be turning the tables around. What a difference!!! Hot meals and nice people. This is how a restaurant should be run. Congrats Tim on getting this done in a timely manner. I will suggest to others to go and visit.

Good service lousy food. French fries were soaked in cooking oil that tasted like it had not been changed in the month. Topped off by a really nasty coconut shrimp that was fried in the same oil.

So, it's not everyday that we go back to a dining establishment that wasn't a great experience the first time, but we gave Kingston Yards a second chance.

We visited the first time during their first month of operation. Anything other than Canzaciti was a welcomed sight at that location. The drinks were good, the service was not that attentative, and our meals took close to an hour to arrive after we ordered. The food was pretty decent, but, underwhelmed overall.

So we went back last night to try them again, the waitress was very attentive, the food came out promptly, and the burgers we ordered were delicious! A much better experience the 2nd time around.

This is an independent local business that had some growing pains in the beginning, but they've definitely come around. Hopefully they last longer than the previous tenant and stick around a while. Definitely a good place for beer and burgers.

Glad this place is closed. They were the worst, and it was the same owner as when it was Canzacity, just trying to overcome their inefficiencies by changing the name!

Super lame. A group of our friends drove 30 min to watch the UFC fight tonight that they advertised they were showing and last minute the owner decides it's too expensive to buy the fight (after they already confirmed yesterday they would be showing it). There were at least 10 other guys standing outside the restaurant trying to find a new place to go. Very disappointed they didn't stick to their word and wasted a lot of people's time.

Just awful from start to finish - I ordered french onion soup and a salad with cranberries, blue cheese, etc. - the soup was almost cold and the onions were crunchy - the salad, while a huge portion, had zero, and I mean zero taste. You would think, will all that potential, it would taste like something but even the candied walnuts were bland. I also ordered the chicken lettuce cups to take home for dinner. Oh my God, I can't even begin to describe how disgusting that was - 2 tiny pieces of chicken in each cup and maybe 3-4 strips of carrot. No bean sprouts or any other veggies and one of the lettuce leaves had a huge brown spot running the entire spine of the leaf.

Service was just atrocious - Megan was our server - she took our order, brought us drinks and that was the last time she was at our table until the bill came. I would have said it was the last time we saw her but no, she continued to move from table to table, with the exception of ours the entire time we were there, not once stopping to ask if we needed anything. It was so bad, my husband, who always gives the benefit of the doubt, even said, wow the service is really bad isn't it? The one caveat was the really friendly young man who served out food to us.

Also, incredibly overpriced - $50.00 for crap food and crap service. Would not go again if I was starving and certainly would not recommend.
