I asked for a somewhat trim and she cut all of my hair and uneven. Not what I asked for at all. Really bad cut and definitely not worth the $65!!! For some reason the back is longer than the front and she thinned out my hair...

During my month long visit to Paris I went to two different salons. The first one was a nightmare. My second salon visit happened when I stumbled upon this T&G. I was excited because they are also in the States, and hopeful that my lack knowledge of the French language wouldn't get in the way of helping them understand what I wanted. I worked with a lovely young girl named Lolita, and though she didn't speak much English, she was happy to work with me. She was very sweet and we laughed and pointed at photos to try and communicate. She also gave me a complimentary leave in conditioning treatment because she felt my extensions were too dry! BUT WAIT, there's more! She also walked me through step by step on how she styled my hair, since I am terrible at doing hair! All in all this was a fantastic experience, I'm glad to have found my Parisian hair salon.

It's always been difficult for me to find the right hair-dresser. The last one I liked was in Jakarta. Now that I live in Paris, I've done trial and error with some, and finally (sooo relieved) I found one in Tony & Guy St Honoré. Midori, apparently the senior hairdresser mastering Asian hair like mine, gave me the hair-cut that I've been proud of for 4 months now. It's elegant and modern, just like I wanted. This week I'm going back to get her to refresh my hair! It's true that the salon is too noisy with the background music that sounds more like a foreground, but hey, the right hair-dresser is hard to find. Even in limited French I made it very clear I was happy with my present haircut but as I had been travelling for 6 weeks I just wanted my hair trimmed in the same shape and style. What I got was a completely different hair style and cut and a large amount of hair removed. The male hairdresser obviously wanted to do his own "thing". Is this a problem with ego and the belief that they can do a better cut than the previous hairdresser I had in Australia for 7 years???
