Gourmet Burger Kitchen

I was craving a burger. I was told by the locals to come here.

I was hungry after hours of walking to all of the top tourist spots in the area. I need to give my feet a break and fill my belly.

I got a basic burger, it was juicy and perfectly cooked. The sesame bun was soft and billowy and pure carby goodness. It had some lovely cheese and fantastic house sauce that made it even better.

After months of walking by these burger joints, I was finally hungry enough- and in the area- to try one. It's true that if you've been to one of the many burger chains in London, you've kind of been to them all. However, each one guarantees good- if not great- quality, and a few signature twists of their own. This place is no different, and conveniently-located near one of London's most famous landmarks.

The interior of this one leaves a bit to be desired, with it's quirky Scrabble-looking signage and funky colors, but the menu is the same as everywhere else. I was a bit miffed that I had to get up and go order at the bar after being seated, but the menu was straightforward enough that it didn't take long. Service was also a bit lukewarm, but whatevs.

It being my first time here, I thought it best to go with one of their benchmark signatures and ordered The Legend burger with smoked applewood cheese and a side of sweet potato fries with a bacon mayonnaise dipping sauce. I have to say, that was one darn good burger. The meat was perfectly cooked, the sauce they used balanced out all the flavors nicely, and those fries were cooked to such perfection, I had to force myself to use the dipping sauce so it wouldn't go to waste. There was nothing wrong with this meal. And the price wasn't bad, either.

They also have a nice selection of cheap cocktails, beers, and dessert on the menu, but for all that, you're going to need an extra stomach or two.

This place is located on Tower Hill a short distance from the tube exit. There is plenty of seating and big wide windows to watch the world go by while you're enjoying their food.

This place serves a variety of burgers, some mainstay options and some seasonal. They have two types of fries, fat or skinny. Both are delicious, but the fat fries did feel more filling and satisfying. The skinny fries are really well done shoestring fries, that you could probably continuously eat all day if you're not careful.

I ordered a basic cheese burger well done and skinny fries. The burger was decent with good cheese, fresh veggies and a nice warmed bun. The service and fast and friendly, even though they were beginning to lock up for the night.

Definitely a good alternative to the tourist traps nearby.

After visiting The Tower of London we decided to eat a light lunch and GBK was .3 miles from the exit. There is either seating inside or outside. You can download the app to order or go up to the bar and order. We ordered the lunch special, a pint, and milkshakes. The restaurant was clean and the wait staff was friendly. They even had free Wi-Fi. The burgers were delicious as was the sides. It's a definite stop for a quick meal while sightseeing.

This is a decent place to get a burger if you're out by the Tower of London.

When we walked in we we greeted promptly and asked if we wished to be seated. We decided to have a seat indoors as outdoors was a bit chilly. The ladies at the counter were quite friendly and assisted us with making our selections.

I decided on a classic burger, well done and no relish. Of course in my American mind I pictured the relished to be of the sweet pickle style. Boy was I wrong, Fortunately for me, my friend ordered her relish on the side and I had the opportunity to try It was like a spicy ketchup-bbq sauce with dill pickles. Actually quite tastes.

I passed on the fries and to drink I chose nothing other than English breakfast tea with milk and sugar, of course!

The order came out just as expected and everything tasted fine. I was expecting more of a homemade burger than restaurant style but it was good.

Overall not bad. I would definitely consider returning to try something else from the menu.

SO glad to have come across this heaven on earth typa burger joint during my stay in London. They have quite a few locations around the city but this one near Tower Bridge inside an alley is my favorite one!!

They're always packed! Regardless, never had trouble getting seated right away anyway. Love the vibe full of mid 20s-early 30s, as well as families dining here too! You have to go up to the register to order like any other fast food place, although this one's quite classy I must say to call it a fast food joint.

MUST HAVE their Chick Chick Boom, it's a chicken sandwich​ with a juicy and huge portion of breaded boneless fried chicken, topped with blue cheese, grilled onion, avocado to name a few in a sesame bun, with a side of their infamous pomegranate homeslaw and sweet potato fries. TO DIE FOR! Yes,​ I know its a burger joint but surprisingly their chicken sandwich beats their actual burgers in my opinion. It's around $12 forthe sandwic​h, the ​total you're gonna spend about $20 for a burger/sandwich here but it's SO SOO worth it.

I seriously can't wait to visit London again just to eat here again.

It appears to be completely closed? If not, please disregard, but after walking around the building twice, finally looked in the windows and it appeared shuttered up.

I ordered a beer and I saw them pour it and place back by the kitchen to be delivered. It sat for 10 minutes until I had to get up, go behind the cash register and grab it myself. Horrible service.

Loved my falafel burger and malted strawberry shake. What a satisfying and big portion after hours of walking in the Tower of London. Interestingly, this place was literally empty when we walked in on a weekend afternoon.
